This week, I’ve tried something a bit different—blame (or thank) my lovely friend Claire, who recently challenged me to create holiday moments, not just wait for them to arrive via plane ticket or school calendar. It got me thinking: what even is a holiday, really?
After a bit of musing (and a walk or two with Barney on the beach), I realised that more than anything, a holiday is a mental break—a pause from the looping thoughts, the to-do lists, the constant trying to figure life out.
So this week’s post comes with photos and a little video creation, showing how I managed to find one of those pause moments in what could’ve just been hanging around waiting.

It’s a gentle experiment in being present, taking a breath, and noticing the joy tucked into the in-between moments. I hope it brings a little calm or inspiration your way—and if nothing else, a glimpse of Barney being his usual charming self.
Let me know what you think, and whether you’ve found any unexpected holiday moments of your own lately.
