Do you have random thoughts?
I often have random thoughts. This morning I was sat down having a coffee when I found myself thinking about our bath towels. I know a bit weird. Anyway, I was thinking about the deep aubergine colour and their fluffiness, especially the fluffiness as they’re over 20 years old. I know exactly how old they are as they were bought for us as a wedding present.
These towels were bought by two elderly ladies Ivy and Zita. My mind was then off down another track. It was full of fabulous, happy, colourful memories. I moved to Manchester in 1991 to begin my first physiotherapy job. I joined Kings Church my first greetings, coffee and chat were with Ivy and Zita. They were wonderfully warm and welcoming. They seemed to be always serving, helping and smiling. They continued faithfully for decades. I am grateful to have known them and learnt from them.
I am grateful for the large, quality and still going strong bath towels they bought us.
It’s quite amazing where a random thought can take you. I have enjoyed the memories and the gratitude has lifted me. I have decided to try an experiment. I’m going to see how many future random thoughts I can turn to gratitude. Anyone up for joining me? I’d love to hear yours. Oh and to any readers who were in Kings in the nineties and noughties do share any lovely Ivy and Zita memories.

Ivy and Zita were always full of smile and lots of bubbly, excited conversation. They were an encouragement that spurred you on.
